In a notification, the Department of Higher Education announced that all classroom teaching for UG and PG in all higher education institutions will remain suspended from April 27, 2022.
โThe authorities will suspend all classroom teaching from April 27 (tomorrow) till May 2, 2022 due to the prevailing heat wave condition.โ
Other activities of higher education institutions (HEIs), such as examinations, evaluation, administrative work, research work, and so on, will, however, continue as usual.
The authorities require teaching and non-teaching employees to remain present in their respective HEIs, as on a normal working day. They are to perform the above-mentioned activities or any other activity assigned to them by their authority during this period.โ
On Monday, the Odisha government announced the closure of all schools in the state for a period of five days starting today.
โThe government has carefully considered the situation and decided to suspend classes at all educational institutions under the S&ME Department. This includes Government, Government-aided, and privately managed (Odia and English medium) from 26.04.2022 to 30.04.2022. This does not affect examinations already scheduled by BSE and CHSE,โ read a letter issued by the School and Mass Education Department.
Despite the closure of schools, the upcoming matriculation or class 10 and +2 board examinations will be held as per schedule, the notification added.
